Chrome extensions have no preset shortcuts. You must bind your own keys for each action at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. The Alt+X, Alt+S shown below are just examples — you can use any key combination you prefer.

How to set up:

🎯 Core Features

1. Picture-in-Picture — Always on Top

Open/Close PiP

  • Click the extension icon in the toolbar and select "Open PiP"
  • Or bind a shortcut key (e.g. Alt + X) for quick access

Window Controls

  • Drag to reposition: Hold the window header and drag anywhere
  • Resize: Drag the edges or corners of the window
  • Minimize/Restore: Click the minimize button, or use your bound shortcut (e.g. Alt + S)

💡 Pin Mode: Enable in settings to auto-minimize the window when you click outside it — it collapses to a small icon and restores on click.

2. Cross-App Drag & Drop — Zero-Typing Interaction

Drag content from anywhere into the floating window and AI will process it automatically:

  • Drag text: Select text from any webpage, document, or chat app and drag it in
  • Drag images: Drag from desktop folders, web pages, or screenshots
  • Drag files: Drag documents (PDF, Word, txt, etc.) from any folder or desktop

3. Selection Menu — One-Click Prompt Execution

Select any text on a webpage to pop up a quick action toolbar. Default options include translate, summarize, optimize, search, and more. You can freely add, edit, or remove items in the settings.

4. Prompt System — Fully Customizable & Extensible

  • Prompt overlay: Type ~ in the chat input box to auto-populate the prompt panel
  • Built-in templates: Includes summarize, translate, optimize, describe image, extract text, and more
  • Fully customizable: Add, edit, delete, reorder, show/hide any prompt in the settings
  • Categories: Organized into text, image, and file types

5. Page Assistant — Fully Customizable & Extensible

Click the extension icon and select "Page Assistant". Default commands include:

Summarize Page
Generate a summary of the current webpage
Analyze Page
Analyze the page structure, perspective, and logic
Chat About Page
Use the page content as context for an AI conversation
Translate Page
Translate the entire page to your target language

You can freely add, edit, or remove Page Assistant commands in the settings — fully customizable to your workflow.

6. Reading Mode — Clean Conversation View

In the PiP window, press your bound key (e.g. Alt + R) or double-click the window to toggle Reading Mode. This hides the AI chat page header, footer, and other UI chrome, leaving only the conversation area.

7. Screenshot to AI

Click "Screenshot" in the extension menu, capture any area of your screen, and the screenshot will be auto-sent to the active AI chat window for instant analysis.

8. Smart AI Scheduling

The extension automatically selects an AI platform with the following priority — and you can drag to reorder the priority list:

  1. Already-open AI chat tab
  2. Large language model in the current tab
  3. Your default model

💬 FAQ

Q: Why can't I open the PiP window?

A: Make sure your Chrome version supports the Document Picture-in-Picture API (Chrome 117+).

Q: Why aren't my shortcuts working?

A: Chrome extensions have no preset shortcuts. Visit chrome://extensions/shortcuts, find "AI Always on Top", and bind your own keys. Don't forget to check "Global".

Q: Dragging files into the window doesn't work?

A: Make sure you're dropping the file into the AI input area of the PiP window, and that the AI page has fully loaded.

Q: Where does the AI page go when I close the PiP window?

A: It automatically returns to a regular browser tab — you won't lose any conversation history.

Q: Can I customize prompts, the selection menu, and Page Assistant?

A: Yes. All of these are fully customizable in the settings page — you can add, edit, delete, and reorder items to perfectly match your workflow.
